Major Function
The Sustainable Finance Manager will lead the implementation of WWF Myanmar’s Sustainable Finance work, which aims to a) foster the integration of environmental, social and governance risks and impacts by the financial sector and b) develop innovative financing solutions for landscapes to drive sustainable development outcomes and he/she will play a key role in developing and implementing WWF Myanmar’s overall sustainable finance strategy to ensure that the sustainable financial solutions designed are aligned with WWF Myanmar’s biodiversity conservation goals including delivering tangible outcomes at the landscape and site level.
Major Responsibilities
a. Develop and manage relations and partnerships with relevant finance sector stakeholders, including financial institutions (banks, and investors), regulators, the stock exchange, and government ministries.
b. Cooperate and establish joint working relationships with other relevant stakeholders active in the field of sustainable finance in Myanmar
c. Develop concrete value propositions, and appropriate reports, guidelines, and tools for financial institutions, regulators and other relevant stakeholders to first understand and then commit to sustainable finance in Myanmar.
d. Assess and benchmark local financial institutions’ sustainable finance practices, and more specifically their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration performance, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards (as applicable).
e. Facilitate discussions between regulators, communities and financial institutions to develop innovative financing solutions.

Requirements
· Bachelor and/or Master’s Degreein business, economics, finance, environment, international relations, sustainable development or related relevant field.
· Minimum 5 years of working experience in the fields of private sector promotion, financial sector, sustainable development, corporate sustainability, and/or climate/environmental policy.
· A good understanding of how environmental and social issues relate to business risks and opportunities and what tools and levers could be used at private and public sector level to catalyse sustainable finance solutions.
· Ability to apply sustainable finance frameworks and tools to ESG issues, assess level of integration by financial institutions and communicate outputs to relevant stakeholders.
· Ability to provide training on sustainable finance and ESG integration to financial institutions and regulators (incl. for senior management / board level). Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Knowledge of Myanmar language will be a strong advantage.
· Myanmar Nationals are highly encouraged to apply.
· Prior experience in the finance sector in Asia is desirable.
