Mission of the Department: DaNa
The Mission is to improve the sustainability and international competitiveness of Tanintharyi’s
rubber sector, resulting in a win-win situation for smallholders and Myanmar’s natural
environment. The project’s objective fits into the larger objective of the partnership between the
Department of Agriculture (DoA), DGL and WWF to sustainably transform the rubber sector in
Tanintharyi. The partnership aims to improve the vertical integration of rubber supply chain and
reduce the horizontal expansion of rubber into forests important from conservation perspective.
This is also called the Zero Deforestation approach.
Major Functions:
The major function of the position is to coordinate all activities related to Latex Collection at the
collection centres for DGL Rubber Factory and maintain the traceability system for sustainable
natural rubber production by DGL
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with DGL Management and WWF Senior Project Officer (SPO) to establish latex
collection centres (LCC)(4 in 2018 and 5 in 2019) in 9 production areas of Dawei District
Facilitate the training for staff of LCC and rubber producers in LCC Catchment Area in
coordination with SPO and Department of Agriculture
Manage the registration of farmers that aim to sell their latex to the collection centres
Develop and maintain information and data on latex collection for DGL
Design and implement an efficient process of latex collection, entry of transaction and
payment
Work with DGL/WWF Team (including Consultants) for the development of traceability system
for the latex and rubber acquired for the DGL Rubber Factory
Carry out the day to day maintenance of the traceability system and latex collection records
Work with DGL/WWF team to analysis data and use information to improve the latex collection
system for sustainable natural rubber.
Work with DGL to maintain and expand the system after the DaNa Facility Project has ended.
Required Qualifications
Relevant degree, preferably in supply chain, process management
Good with using computer, iPads, and handheld devices
Experience and/or Interest to working with a Private Sector Company with strong
Corporate Social Responsibility.
Willing to live and work long-term in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region and travel frequently to
rubber producing areas in Dawei District.
Good English Language skills
